The Office of Inspector General (OIG) serves as a watchdog agency for the WAX Network. It acts as a neutral third-party designated to evaluate WAX Guild Candidates’ contribution to the ecosystem and provide ongoing transparency for the community. The Office of Inspector General is a committee with three members who standardize WAX Guild evaluations and properly recognize WAX Guild Candidates making valuable contributions to the WAX ecosystem. The committee members (IGs) are elected individually from and by the community, contributing to further decentralizing the WAX Network.

The IGs collaborate to handle the responsibilities of the office, issuing detailed criteria, evaluation parameters, scoring mechanisms, and more.

Inspector General Mission

The mission of the inspector general is to provide quantitative and qualitative assessments of WAX Guild Candidates on a continuous and transparent basis in order to:

• Assist WAX Token holders in their guild voting decision-making.
• Objectively and consistently evaluating all WAX Guild Candidates across a standard set of relevant performance criteria.
• Ensure Active and Standby Guilds are paid in alignment with their evaluation and appointed position.

Inspector General Selection Process

The selection process for the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) within the WAX Community is as follows:

• Elections are held every six months, with each Inspector General serving an 18-month term.
• As soon as a new IG is elected, the previous IG's tenure ends and they are rotated out.
• The rotation of OIG seats takes place on the first day of February and August every year.
• The OIG is compensated in WAX Tokens and their salary is paid out of the WAX Worker Proposal fund.

Office of Inspector General Responsibilities

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Publishing regular evaluations of all qualified Guild Candidates.
• Continually improving and updating the OIG Evaluation Framework.
• Monitoring, testing, and reviewing products submitted by Guilds.
• Enhancing the workflow and representation of the OIG.
